Greetings! My hopes of getting my flowers planted on Mother's Day were quickly dashed when I woke up and it was 38 degrees with flurries outside! I did pick up my mom though and brought her to a greenhouse where we picked out a plant for her apartment. I knew I had to wait but couldn't resist a primrose.... oh it was hard to leave all that color behind! I spent most of the day knitting which was a treat for sure! I started a pretty little shawlette with the lace edging worked as you go, and look at this color! A true tangerine and I love it! And are those Signature needles? Yes! Happy Mother's Day to me! Love them... worth every penny.
The geese had six little ones hatch on Mother's Day and we saw them briefly before they left. They do that sometimes, though I must say I like it much better when they stick around. I had a rare 15 minutes today and hopped on my bike for a quick ride to the upper pond, thought maybe they brought them there... but no.
The lilies are from my older son Taylor... and congratulations to him for having four of his written works chosen for 'Vantage Point' a publication by UVM. They ran out of room so only used three, but one was chosen to be last. Well deserved :) And the lilies are still so pretty and fragrant...!
I had kind of a hectic, choppy week but have eight bags and some cases for tonight and as always I had a great time making them. Stayed up too late last night though so tonight will be a hot soak, some knitting and early (ier) to bed as Friday morning yoga comes quick! The reviews are positive for the Pattern Envelopes and I'm really enjoying mine so I think they'll be added to the repertoire! Woody covered a shift for someone this week so only had one day to turn but has two pretty items for tonight.
And look at the lovely shawl I received in the mail! It was part of a swap package I'm doing on Ravelry and my package to her should go out in a week..... it's cozy and warm and thanks Woody for snapping the photo :) Black flies are out so it's flailing limbs everywhere! Rain the next two days but Sunday is looking good.
Hopefully it'll warm up before fall.
Knit on good woman and thanks for stopping in! Till next week,
Martha.
