Greetings! What a heat wave! Egads... I'm glad it's almost over and once again I'm glad I live in Vermont as heat like this is short lived. I'm not a heat lover (!) and it's hard for me to keep my energy level up, but I managed 4 custom bags this week in addition to tonight's bags.... and a smaller tote I made for myself. The tote is a nice size, with one interior pocket that runs the width of the bag and I used leather handles. I made another for tonight... look for it under Hybrid.

I photographed two of the custom bags I did... one in a pretty red with a deep purple lining, and the other is a great brown, red handles and a great lining with big tulips! The black bag will be offered tonight too... I had to show the picture of it from a far as I love how it looks in the yard! And I'm showing it open, holding 2 skeins of yarn, my Pattern Envelope and my Hufflepuff scarf in progress. Just to give you an idea of the size..... look for it under Hybrid as well though it's essentially a Willa Bag with more width and less height.

My scarf is at the half way point and I noticed a missed stitch... 3" into it! Can you believe I worked down through to repair it? Believe it... I did. It was a long process but I knew it would bother me if I didn't fix it. Of course half way down I did begin to question my sanity.... :)
The parade was great fun and of course the used book sale was the highlight of the day! I love my little town, and the 4th is always so relaxing.... great fireworks too!

We leave for Maine on Saturday! My one week a year and I'm SO ready. A week to sit on the dock and knit, read and swim is heaven to me and I just can't wait. I'll be back with you all on the 22nd. The next batch of colored handles will be ready and no doubt I'll have even more vintage buttons and who know what else! (I tend to stop at as many antique shops as I can)....
The cuticle salve sold out and I've requested more....

So now I have to decide what projects to bring. We all know that's the top priority with books a close second and clothes.... last! I hope to finish up my Hufflepuff scarf and know I want to have my green shawl with me. I heard from a few of you interested in the pattern, I agree... it's a pretty one. I have to decide what else will come along though of course I'll do a bit of shopping at Yardgoods in Waterville. I'm excited to see my sister too and will join her midweek for a yoga class, should be fun!

So, any payments that arrive during the week.... do know the bags will be sent out on Monday the 19th.

I'll be back in two week... thanks for dropping in! Until then, stay cool, take time and knit on good women!
