January 21

Greetings! We finally got a bit of sun! It was just for today, and only lasted a couple of hours (here at our house) but ohhh was it nice to see. It was a quick week, as always, but I put two more custom bags in the mail, have two more going out this weekend, and a good list waiting. I whipped up another cowl, very this time..... the appeal for me was the color. I needed something nice and soothing and this was it. Details:

Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend, color 3301.
I cast on 94 stitches on a size 6 needle and worked a K1, P1 ribbing for 18 rows. Then I switched to a size 5 needle and worked 12 rows, then switched to a size 4 and worked the remaining 18 rows on a size 4. Bound off in ribbing. So versatile for such a simple thing…
Soft and warm and just right around my neck. Comfortable up, or rolled over.

Did a little bit of snowshoeing this week, not much, but it's always good to get out. We've had a blast watching the playoff games and Paul is (as I type) ecstatic as a new flat screen TV was just delivered! What fun for the Olympics, not to mention the super-bowl....
Woody ended up not needing a cast and is back at work, good news! Not sure what this means for noste production, but we'll see...

My mom is settling in nicely, thanks to those of you who asked! They're now making sure someone goes out and walks with her every day... at 83 she could walk circles around them, and has always loved, and needed, her daily dose of fresh air.

Welcome again to everyone new and once again, I'll put the reminder out again to please be sure to read the shopping car info here:

Shown here is the inside of a Snow Pond Bag that'll be offered tonight... I wanted to show how nicely it opens, such a nice bag to work from... and this little case is offered tonight with a matching Yarn Market Bag. And what's a new dining room without an old cat sleeping in the bread basket???

Till next week... take some time, enjoy the sun and the waxing moon and for goodness sake... knit on good women!

Warmly,
Martha.
