January 14
Greetings! I hope you all had a good week. I was exhausted by the end of last week having moved my mom and spent some nice time over the weekend re-grouping. Once again I turned to my knitting for grounding and comfort. The playoff games were on so Sunday was a football/knitting marathon and I started and completed a cowl that I just love! Well, I love both of the completed cowls, but the darker is my favorite. The honey mustard cowl is a hand dyed bulky weight that I custom ordered from a gal on Ravelry, and the other is another hand dyed yarn called 'Sherwood Forest'. The pattern is one that I purchased so I can't share it... but the honey mustard pattern is here:

I had done one a while ago in a power blue, but this one I love as well. Really fun pattern. I also finished up some fun arm warmers! I used 'Vineyard' by Artful Yarns, heavy/bulky weight and cast on 26 sts and knit 74 rows binding off on row 75. Gauge is 4.5 to the inch. My wrist is 5.75” around and these give me a nice snug fit. Finished length is 10” rolled. A customer of mine was nice enough to gift me a set of Harmony needles (size 8) which matched the yarn beautifully! So coordinated! I love them and will wear them often. Gorgeous needles by the way.... :)
It was another week of a lot of new sign ups, so I urge you all to be sure to read the Shopping Cart Information from the site:

That said, welcome!
While packing up last weeks bags, I happen to look outside and saw a huge Barred Owl. It sat very high in an old Cherry tree we have in the front of the house. I almost didn't run for the binoculars (owl sightings are usually so rare and fleeting) but I'm glad I did. What a beautiful creature. It was snowing quite hard and I watched it long enough so see some snow accumulate on the top of its head. I turned back to the boxes, then back to the owl but it was gone. They're like that.......
I started the week with a bit of oral surgery o_O nothing that 600 MG of Motrin every 6 hours can't handle! I dislike taking anything, but am not a fan of pain either so...... I'm happy to say I left the heavy duty pains meds untouched, though I didn't make it in to my studio until after dinner. Feeling better now and will be back for yoga in the morning.
Many of you will remember Woody's nostepinnes and I'm happy to say he came out to the house and turned two more. Poor guy broke his ankle while bouldering, so thought it time to keep some income flowing and to work with his hands, which he does so beautifully. He turned two, and they're large. I wrapped 150 yards of bulky weight in just a few minutes and it was a joy to use. I then wrapped 140 yards of worsted weight yarn in under ten minutes. Both will be offered tonight. He plans to turn more....
That's it... have a great week all! Thanks for stopping in and.... knit on good women!
Martha.
