March 5
Greetings! Daylight savings this weekend! We're all ready for the light, though some don't like it darker in the mornings. Me? I'm never up that early anyway.
I received an email from Mouline Yarns in Montreal asking about wholesale prices of my bags. I explained to them that I don't wholesale, but they wanted to see them anyway (road trip!) !

So, my friend Betsy and I took a drive on Sunday and I was so impressed with her navigational skills! Whipping her mini van through the streets....it was a blast. I brought sold bags from last week and it was really fun (and interesting) to see women go to the bags, pick them up and want to purchase them! They are interested in them at my retail price as his customers were willing to purchase them and make up that difference. However nice it was to hear, I'm still working on custom bags and with the weekly listings, it's going to the back burner for now. Still, really nice for me. Their shop was beautiful and I purchased some lovely yarn from Canada...as did Betsy who knows a lot about yarn (she works at Northeast Fiber Arts) and is a great knitter. We visited two other yarn shops that day as well as a wonderful indoor food market. Cappuccino was delicious and we had the best almond croissants....ever.
I finished up my Cabled Shoulder Bag and love it! The pattern can be found in issue # 1 one of The Knitter. A new knitting magazine from the UK. The magazine shows it in red, but I chose a yummy cocoa brown, lined it in a red floral cotton/linen fabric and Mike at the fabric shop covered the button for me. The base called for a Turkish cast on...I'd never done it but the technique is in the back for the magazine and it's great...no seam!

I really like it and have subscribed. It can be a bit hard to find here in the states, but I found my first copy at Barnes & Noble. Issue # 2 is due this week and they're holding me a copy. There are 13 issues a year. They too contacted me! In the back of every issue is a full page showing knitting related items that folks can text in and try to win. All proceeds go to a cancer foundation in the UK. They requested one of my bags and I was more than happy to send off a really fun Madison Slim in a way cool orange/red micro finer...see the fabric tonight as a Baguette! It's really special.
My older son left this morning for Africa to see his girlfriend! Safe travels darlin!!!
Be well good women and lets all enjoy the extra daylight as we knit on!
Martha.
