Green Mountain Knitting Bags

February 19

Greetings! Today is the last day to sign up for the Spring Swap, so be sure to do so if you'd like to join us! Hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day! I fell on the ice Friday night, heading back to my car having run my last errand. I fell hard, hitting my tailbone and elbow. I didn't get up right away and a nice man came over to help me...good greif. So...it was a quiet weekend of trying to get comfortable...but I got to knit a lot, and finished up 4 charity hats that have been sent out...fun, fast knitting! Saturday was my husband's birthday so as much as he wanted to stay and care for me...I sent him off to the mountain to ride. He had two full days and had a blast. The boys were here for dinner Saturday night and the four of us fell into our contented chatter that always seems to happen when we're together. I'm feeling better now, but missed yoga Wednesday night. I'll be ready for it in the morning....
It's been cold, with only one day of sun...and we're getting another storm tonight.
Northeast Fiber Arts Center is having a big sale tomorrow...who can pass up $2.00 skeins? Not me, that's for sure. Then it's off to pick up another batch of handles....Cherry as well as Butternut this time.

From last week.....:

Welcome to the first ever (and hopefully not last) Green Mountain Knitter's Spring Swap!

As we regularly meet here from week to week, I thought it would be fun for us all to share in a Green Mountain Spring Swap! I have so many lovely customers who share a love of knitting and thought it would be fun for us to connect in some way….and what better way than yarn! For those of you who have never been involved in a swap…..here’s how it works:

Email me your name and address ( 'Contact Me' can be found on the Home Page) and answer three questions (all in the same email would be greatly appreciated).

1. Your favorite colors.

2. Types of fiber you enjoy working with.

3. Projects you like to knit…like, fingerless mitts? Mittens? Scarves? Hats? Shawls?

I’ll then create swap partners…sending you each others address and project preferences. You’ll have three weeks to put together your package to send out. The price limit is $35.00 - $40.00 and should include yarn, a pattern, a fun knitting related item (or items) like stitch markers…fun notions or anything of your choosing. You might want to add something that’s unique to the state you live in? Really, whatever you’d like…the theme is SPRING, so keep that in mind when putting together your package! Always a beautiful time of year to focus on! Get creative (I know you will) and have fun!

The deadline for sign-ups is February 19th. I’ll get partners out within the week…and all packages must be sent out by March 19...right before the first day of Spring! All packages must include a delivery confirmation number, please email me that number after mailing. That’s it! Oh…I’ll be joining in too! I’ll have a family member pick a name at random! Feel free to send along pictures of your packages, and we’ll show them on the news page!

Have a great week...welcome to the many who signed up over the week...and knit on good women!

Warmly,

Martha.
