December 17
Greetings!
Hmmm, can we really get all of our holiday knitting done in time? I know for me my needles will be smokin! I get so busy thistime of year with custom work that somehow, my knitting takes a back seat. That said, I did manage to finish my Mara Shawl and I love it! I bought this yarn in Montreal when I spent the day there with my friend Betsy this past spring. It's from Tanis Fiber Arts http://www.etsy.com/shop/tanisfiberarts?section_id=5717205 and it's one of my new favorite yarns. The colorway is moss, it's really warm without being too heavy.... nice smoochiness too. I've been wearing it as winter has hit... and hit hard! Two degrees this morning and it's below zero now. Needless to say we're all wearing many layers.
My week was busy... I worked primarily on custom orders over the weekend. Monday I sent them out, and had a dentist appointment that required valium, so I didn't get as much completed as I would have liked... though didn't care either (!) and didn't make my usual Monday yoga class. Tuesday morning I cleared out our living room (formally our dining room) and got it ready to paint.... which we were planning on doing this weekend. But Paul came home from work and we both looked at each other... threw on our painting garb and tackled it. Done by 8:45! We re-arranged what we could, and yesterday morning I put it back together. And because I've been doing yoga for so long now, if I miss a class (even though I do it at home) my body cries out for it... so I listened and went last night. Gad I listened, it felt great. My woodworker was supposed to have handles ready for me on Tuesday but was running behind so I had to leave the house today for my 1/2 hour drive (one way) to pick them up. Seems like the week just flew by but a lot of very good things were accomplished. I have five bags to offer tonight... pretty ones and look for a new twist on an existing style. With next Thursday being Christmas Eve, I won't be listing at my usual time, but I will offer whatever I can get done in-between my knitting, shopping, cleaning, wrapping, decorating, baking etc... I am ready to take some time and .... breathe. So, I will offer what I can though I'm not sure when... I will be listing on New Year's Eve (another Thursday) but at 6:30 instead of the usual 8:30.
So good women... let's all remember to take good care of ourselves... be good to the ones we love, focus on what really matters... and knit on.
Warmly,
Martha.
