June 26
Greetings! It's been a crazy week (again) of gorgeous blue skies...then thunder and lots of rain. On the nice days, my husband (Paul) and I have been jumping on our bikes after dinner and riding around just for fun. We head up the road to one of the other beaver ponds and have noticed that it's now a healthier (more active) pond than the one right across the road from our house. A very feisty beaver swims quite close to us before slapping that tail of his..... Both boys were out for a visit last night, and Woody had requested a cooking lesson from Paul...so we were all treated to a yummy sautéed lemon chicken with mushrooms and scallions....yes, he's very good....probably the reason Woody asked his 'Dad'...and not his Mom! I spent some time this week getting out ideas (via sewing) that have been scrambled in my mind. If you wouldn't mind...I'd love some feed back. Look for the new ideas under Hybrids (for now). The knitting clutch shown here is one I did ( that I'm keeping ). I like it and it holds a nice amount and has the usual pocket spread, but they've been divided into more compartments. Included too is a loop of parachute cording on the side seam that a circular needle (or two) can 'loop' through. Also...if I just want to grab a quick current project and don't want to carry one of my larger bags, this is great. It can also fit into any other larger bag, so your knitting can still be with you when packing light. I noticed that I haven't made a Baguette in a long time...as every Baguette I make has pockets. So...the Tall Baguette will now be known as the Baguette...and I'll faze out the unpocketed version. Last Thursday, after the early listing time, I headed into town to run errands...and I completely forgot about our local Farmers Market! Ug! I hope to get there soon though. My shawl is almost half fringed. I'm glad I decided to add it on, but the process is slow, especially since I'm doubling each strand. Love how it looks so far though! Still lots to type. Hope all of you good women have been well....and let's all knit on! Till next time, Martha. |
