January 24

Greetings once again from snowy cold Vermont. The weather on TV and the radio keep stressing how frigid cold it is...and I'm thinking...'but it's January in Vermont'. ??? It's winter, and winter is cold. The way they talk you'd think it was 25 below...that's cold. Maybe the 18 degrees we had today is just easier to take now that the days are getting longer and the sun is that much higher in the sky.
I finished the sock I was working on and have the other on the needles. I purchased a great new book called 'Knitting Vintage Socks' and it looks promising. Wonderful new patterns based on old ones. Nice variety and as I like vintage things, it's right up my alley. Nicely written with lots of options for turning the heel and making the toe. And bed socks! Who doesn't love bed socks!?
I'm starting a class tomorrow that's a combination stretching-yoga-breathing-aerobic combination. I want to stay (get) limber and have the need to be a bit more social. Working from home keeps me in a lot and other than my quick trips to the fabric shop and town market...I don't get out much. So...the company of like minded women will be a welcome change. And what great timing after my very long Thursdays.
I had two glorious moon walk this week. One was so cold but so beautiful, that by the time I got home I could barely feel my thighs! But I love walking at night with that moonlight...

Lots still to type so I'll leave you now with this week's Vermont Proverb:
Men and melons are hard to know.....

Till next time knit on good women!

Martha.
