September 27
Greetings! We celebrated our 23rd anniversary last weekend with an overnight at Lake Willoughby in northern Vermont. The colors there were just about peek. We had a lovely room, I took time to knit...we chatted, hiked and canoed. A beautiful and welcomed pause....
I had a hard time gearing up when we got back, it was too short and my mind and body still wanted to be in that relaxed state...pace. Monday I caught up on season one of Heroes, such a fun show. I wanted to be ready to watch the season premier that night with Woody. Tuesday I took a drive to my most favorite yarn shop (Northeast Fiber Arts...look for the link on my Links Page) and purchased two gorgeous hanks of Ranco by Araucania, an amazing sock yarn. I wound the 376 yards with my nostepinne and was pleased with the results. Instead of getting right back to work I started on a pair of fingerless mittens and the yarn is a joy. I did have a good burst yesterday and today though, and managed to get 8 bags ready...
Found a great business on line I'd like to share with you all called Bead for Life. Please link below to see the women in Uganda and all the wonderful work they're doing. I have 3 bracelets now, and just received a bag of loose beads. All bags sent out in October will have 2 beads strung and pinned to them, along with a Bead for Life card in the pocket. Let's all do what we can to support this fabulous effort.

Not quite peek here...lots of raspberry this year and the big maple behind our house always turns the prettiest shade of yellow. Temperatures still unseasonably warm, but should cool down soon.
Thanks for being here good women, let's continue to support each other ...and knit on!
Martha.
