September 13 Greetings, We've had a very rough two weeks as my mother in law, who had been living with us for that time, had to return today for the additional care she required. Such a mix of emotions. I did manage to get eight bags completed, and hope to be back on my regular schedule. It's interesting, going through something like that...Yesterday, while driving through the town's main road, I saw a little turtle. I pulled over, ran to it, and moved the baby snapper to the other side. That was yesterday, when my husband and I were at our wits end. We spoke with her last night, about her need for additional care we couldn't provide, and it was rough. This morning the first thing I saw was a young deer in our yard. She still had her spots, and was lovely. This afternoon, having left my mother in law and husband (he was driving her back) I was a half a mile from our house, when I noticed a blue heron flying with my car. It stayed with me (or me with it) until I got to the bottom of my driveway. And, when things come in three's, we tend to take notice....so I looked it up the meanings of these lovely creatures and found this out: Turtle - Self contained, creative source, Earth, informed decisions, planning, adaptability. Deer - Love, gentleness, kindness, gracefulness, sensitivity, purity of purpose, walking in the light, swift, Heron - Vigilance, quiet, power of water, tact, delicacy, renewal, life, transformation. I am drained, but found my work to be especially healing this week. I'd like to leave you all with these words: "In spite of illness, in spite even of the archenemy sorrow, one can remain alive long past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid of change, insatiable in intellectual curiosity, interested in big things, and happy in small ways."
