October 25
Greetings!
A busy week indeed! We rented a dumpster for 7 days (I'll spare you all those pictures) and are purging the house! Woody needs a good work space in the basement to be able to get going on his projects...nostepinner being among those. But after 21 years of being in the same house...with a big basement, needless to say we've accumulated...stuff. I've made many trips to the Salvation Army and the recycle center...not to mention our free pile at the bottom of the driveway! Us Vermonter's like those, and we often get enthusiastic waves from those driving away with their new items. But we all need a break now and then and mine was a craft show on Saturday. It was a two day show held at the public high school and I thought it would be a small show. Turns out it wasn't...and I was thrilled at the fine artists that were there. The booth I was looking for was a jeweler named Kerin Rose. I found her as she too is linked from Northeast Fiber Arts (my favorite yarn shop). Her work isn't for sale off her site...yet, but if you're interested in her work she does have contact information. See her work here:

I love the lotus. My ring is stunning and the bracelet has a lotus in the center, and on either side are the elements. I love them both and they're so comfortable to wear. Ok...I have earrings too. I also purchased a perfume bottle from a 23 year old young man. So young to have perfected a craft?! He apprenticed in Italy as well as New York, and is work blew me away. The bottle is a smoky eggplant color, but looking from the base you can see cobalt blue. Also bought 2 skeins of yarn I didn't need, but always like to support local people who sell it. Green & purple...what a surprise.
I'm offering a case tonight that matches a Fat Baguette. I'm thrilled with it. The cases I've seen at my LYS's are either big ones to hold everything (except if you've been knitting for over 30 years and have more needles than you know what to do with...and have them all in a hookah case, ahem) but nothing really to just hold what you'd want in your knitting bag. Pockets hold all I need, but I thought it might be fun to organize it a bit more. Plus, the Fat Baguette has no pockets...hence the case.
Our days are getting shorter and in the valley where we live they're especially short. I drove the last bag of the day up the road to get the last bit of sun before it went over the hill. My husband has been having a ball mountain biking and has to rush home to try and get a quick ride in before it's too dark...which he just did. Baked chicken with fresh macs, carrots, butternut squash and raisins all in a curry cider sauce in the oven for dinner....
Rain tomorrow, so I'll get my moon walk in tonight...can't wait. Always helps me to find the balance.
Till next week good women, knit on...and Go Sox!
Martha.
