October 18
Greetings,
The mitered knitting class I took was wonderful! It was a four hour class and the time flew. One of the women summed it up when I said..."Isn't so nice to have this time to just sit and knit?" And she said..."blessed."
Jennifer was a great instructor and gave a detailed description of the difference between mitered knitting compared to entrelac and domino. We all chose the hat project (a pillow was an option too) and got going right away on our mitered squares. See the pictures...it started on the bottom right square, then moved left to square # 8, then above that, and now I'm working on top of and across the bottom row of squares. Then it'll be joined, picked up and the top is knit, then picked up and the bottom is knit! Fun fun fun. I didn't have my noste with me so had to wind my wool into a ball! Boy, how I appreciate my noste now! We had a hard frost, and that morning my husband and I had our morning coffee in the woods...it's one of his favorite times, when the sun starts to rise and the weighted leaves release themselves from the trees, and it makes the loveliest of sounds....
While walking the other afternoon we saw our neighbor Rob Farley who is starting to work his team of dos for the upcoming winter. He trains with a cart before the snow...see his wonderful web site here:

Woody has been making nostepinner but he's been working with wood that is part of an experiment. It's wood that Beeken & Parson just received, and he's making nostepinner for them to see the variations of the wood. They will be listed a week from tonight! And they are gorgeous....
Worked on custom bags this week, but do have eight pretty ones for tonight. Lots of chenille....and two hybrids, a new category just for those bags that are free form! Also, two new bags to be seen on the Hall of Fame Page.
Have fun, be good...and knit on good women!
Martha.
