Green Mountain Knitting Bags

Greetings!

Lake Placid proved to be a good time for all. The guys spent all their time at the mountain, only to return to the cabin to soak, relax and sleep. Some world cup snowboarding events were going on, so my thought of sitting there and knitting was quickly squelched when I learned of the parking nightmare. I spent lots of time knitting and reading, and had one full day in Lake Placid. The shops were uninteresting to me...Gap, Izod (egads) but I was delighted to find an off the beaten path (yet on the main street) antique shop where I found this AMAZING enamel bowl!!!! You know how sometimes when you shop you see something, and you like it, but you hem and haw, and maybe move on...and if you don't find anything else you might go back...And then there are those purchases where there is NO hesitation. That's how I was with this. Yes...I would loved to have found it at a yard sale for fifty cents, but fat chance. I love old enamel ware, have quite a bit, but have never seen anything quite this spectacular. It will house ALL my vintage buttons, which are now in various tins throughout my studio. I did try on a few things, but couldn't justify the price. Off the main drag a bit was the local yarn shop where I purchased two skeins of lovely grass green angora (easily justifiable) to make up some hand warmers. Oh, and on the way there we passed an upholstery business in one of the small towns. MENTAL NOTE! So on the last day I knocked on their door and begged for scraps...ok, not really...but sort of. Pieces too small for them are just right for me. What a great funky old barn the business was in, and I was escorted to the attic where there were boxes upon boxes of remnants. It was a dream. I dug for over an hour and filled a huge box. He came up with a fair price, and some of it is offered tonight. Thanks guys.
I haven't touched my knitting since I've been home, something I want to remedy. I'm just a few rows away from decreasing for the underarm. What a great pattern and the yarn is lovely.
My sister is here for a visit, and it's already 7:00, so I best get all information to Allison.
Also! Check out the Hall of Fame Page. I (via Allison) shook it all up. I'm showing some of my favorite bags, some from a few years back before pockets...and buttons. Fun to know how it's all progressed, so have fun looking. Also added a product warranty to the Bags For Sale Page.

Flood warnings with everything melting...rivers are high, and we can taste mud season!
