June 7...already?

Greetings,

There will be no bags listed tonight as our younger son has his high school graduation tomorrow, and today (and this evening) are full of events at the school. So...instead of driving myself crazy, and listing the small amount I've managed to complete over the week, I'll roll them over to next Thursday. I'm sure you can (and I hope) understand, as we all know what it's like to simply have too much on our plates to enjoy and focus on what's most important. Thank you all in advance for your understanding.

Forty two degrees yesterday morning! But nice, clear dry air and the day was lovely. Cool today too, but tomorrow...H-H-H...hazy, hot and humid. The ceremony is at 10:30, so hopefully all those in caps and gowns won't have to endure for too long.

Our local Farmer's Market opened yesterday for the first time, and will run every Thursday throughout the summer. We missed it as we took Woody out to dinner...and prior to that, popped in on our older son who's moving into his new apartment. Five of us sat around his freshly painted living room with boxes scattered and paint cans everywhere. We chatted and laughed and hugged goodbye and it was good to have life slow down for a moment...and needless to say...wonderful to all be together.

Such an interesting time, to see our children at places in their lives that don't seem so far away from when we were there....

I'm on the last few rows of my shawl and have decided to add the beads, thinking maybe I'll splurge on real turquoise. I'd like to finish that up soon and have it blocked and ready to wear for when we have our week in Maine the end of June.

New carpet goes in on Monday, so rooms need to be emptied this Sunday...this includes my studio, egads.

Two turtle sightings this week...always exciting as they're such elusive creatures. First, was a lovely painted turtle, and two days later, a snapper on the side of the road...off laying her eggs no doubt. Painted turtles are so pretty, with little red dots all along the arms and neat stripes of black across their eyes. Snappers? Ahhh not so pretty, but a treat to see none the less.

I'm off to clean and reflect on the events of the week...then to the school.

Enjoy the week...and see you all here next Thursday.

Martha.
