Greetings!

Ahh what a great time we had in Maine. I think I get more knitting done in one week than in 3 months here at home. We had good weather, though it was chilly the beginning of the week, but the sun was out, so great knitting weather! As my husband put it, "Let's go be Sacco's unplugged." And we do, and it's great. My sister joined us for much of the time which made going a week later than originally scheduled well worth it. This also made it possible to enjoy the full moon rise, right on the dock. Enjoy Woody's pictures...he played around with different time exposures and the result is wonderful...one even looks like a sun rise!
I visited my two favorite yarn shops in the area and did my annual (yeah right) yarn purchases. My latest book (that I highly recommend) is 'Lace Style' from Interweave Knits. It's one of the few book where I like pretty much everything. So...on that note, my yarn purchases included:
8 skeins of Naturally Tussock chunky in a beautiful plum color, enough to do the sweater on the front...a feather & fan cardigan.
5 skeins of Guernsey by Wendy...navy blue to do the camisole/vest. 5 ply...all wool, a true Guernsey.
2 skeins of Melody from Jojoland. Beautiful purple and lemon lime variegated lace weight wool for.....something.
3 skeins of Jamieson's double knitting in plum & sage-lime for fingerless mittens.
And finally...2 skeins of purple & lime (do we have a theme here???) of Panda Wool for socks.
I did start a fun vest in Candy by artful yarns in a fun, boucle-ish cotton blend in light purple/lime. (good grief).
But most of my time was spent working on my current sweater and Woody's Ravenclaw (Harry Potter) scarf.
Ok...and 2 new Addi circulars...
So thank you all for supporting me so I can, in turn, support these wonderful local businesses! And I must say....I like my knitting bags. I knew I did, I've had the same two for years, but really appreciated how great they are on this trip. I'm allowed to say that...right?!?

Great lobster, fun jig saw puzzle, lots of sleep, reading and knitting...oh yes, and time in the canoe.
Heaven.

Knit on good women!
Martha.
