January 18
Greetings,
Well winter has finally arrived. We have snow, but then lots of freezing rain created a frozen crust of ice over it. Zero degrees, but the sun has been lovely and bright the past two days. Two of these pictures are from our upstairs dormer windows. I was walking by and the pink in the sky was so pretty that I had to grab my camera...even a few falling snow flakes are visible.
At least it's cold enough now for the ski areas to make snow. Crazy weather throughout the country for sure...and good thoughts go out to those going through hard times...
I'll be checking in on gal # 1 on the custom list tomorrow...and so it begins. My hope is that I can go from Friday to Friday with the list.
Older son, Taylor, and his girlfriend had a wonderful 2 weeks in Puerto Rico. They got a great deal on air fair, and camped right on the water. They spent $60.00 on food at a little market, and other than one dinner out, they made it last for two weeks. Good for them. He did a lot of snorkeling and was lucky enough to see a sea turtle (that hung out with him for 2 or so minutes) and an octopus who's color he said was one of the most beautiful shades of blue he'd ever seen. Lucky me to be the recipient of this beautiful conch shell...thanks hon. Now they're both back to classes and work.
We purchased 'Little Miss Sunshine' and have had a blast watching it. If you haven't seen it...do.
Two beautiful fabrics arrived today (look for them next week) and I have some burgundy floral barkcloth coming as well...can't wait to see that.
Enjoy the bags tonight.
Till next time,
Martha.
