February 8
Greetings. Still freezing here, windy too, making is feel colder than it is. I've been getting out for my walks though, always makes such a difference in my day, and overall frame of mind.
Had fun watching the Super Bowl with friends, and would have been happy to have either team win. I do like Peyton Manning though, I'd say he earned it.
I decided to purge my studio and what I thought would take a few hours took a day and a half. But it looks wonderful, is more efficient...and I have lots more room.
My next batch of handles will be Cherry! I'm thrilled! The Cherry is also grown here in Vermont and has been responsibilally harvested. Both Cherry & Butternut are hardwoods, though Cherry is a harder hardwood. They are lovely and will darken with time. A few are offered tonight. After this batch, I'll order a combination of Cherry and Butternut, as I like them both equally well. Fun to have the two, and nice to work with a new wood.
I've been pushing hard this week, staying up until midnight or after, so not too much news, and no more was done on my felted mittens...maybe this week.
Till next time,
Martha.
