August 9

Greetings! I know much of the country is in a heat wave, but it's lovely here today. And last night was in the 60's...perfect for sleeping. The first nostepinne will be offered tonight. My younger son, Woody, is making them and they'll be offered regularly in a variety of woods. I used mine for the second time, and caught on quickly (better the second time around)...improving the shape of my center pull skein. What a joy to use. Shown below is a skein I just wrapped. It's 440 yards of lace weight merino wool. The skein holds together beautifully, and pulls effortlessly from the center. Simple & wonderful.
Thanks for the continued great feedback about the new Madison sweater bag...I like them too.
I want to finish up two sweater projects along with a shawl that's so close to being done it's silly that it isn't. Also want to finish up a pair of mittens for a friend.
On the 12th & 13th look for meteor showers...I'll be looking! Let's hope for clear skies. Such a bittersweet time of year as the days grow shorter. Walking down to my mail box yesterday I saw a red leaf on the ground from our big maple. I'm never ready for it....and the older I get, the sweeter summertime is.
Lots of great local produce around, another reason to love this time of year!

Lots to type...gotta run!
Till next time....knit on good women!

Boiled zucchini, grilled zucchini, pureed zucchini soup, baked stuffed zucchini, Zucchini relish, zucchini bread......
