August 2

Greetings! It's hot. I don't like hot. Drains my energy and overall puts me in a funk. But, it's summer in Vermont...and how hard is that to take?
My younger son now has a car!!!!!!! Purchased from the old farmer who lives just up the road. All of us who live on this hill do so because he decided to sell of parcels of his land starting back in the early 70's. So nice, really, that he knows who has his old car as he can wave when it goes by....as he sits outside smoking his cigars. So my at times seemingly never-ending days of chauffeuring are over! I don't know who's happier...me or Woody!
Had a great time at the annual gem show last weekend. Great venders, enthusiastic shoppers, gorgeous stones and great information. Among my purchases...black tourmaline, amazonite, fluoride, opal and jade. I did purchase a gorgeous piece of petrified wood (for Woody) a piece of shell jasper for my husband and angelite for my older son. Great time...and just in time for them to soak up the moonlight.
Had a nice dinner here with friends on Monday. One of our guests folks run a farm here in Vermont and sell yarn (among many other things). Beautiful colors...I'm contemplating some for a hat...maybe mittens to match??
Woody has made another nostepinde, this time out of mahogany. I used mine and love everything about it. I know the more I use it, the better I'll become. We hope to have some ready to sell here on the site by next week. Gas money of course!

Enjoy the picture Cody in the yarn shop...sent to me by a valued regular customer who lives in Wisconsin. How gorgeous is he??!!

Hoping for some cooler air...till then...knit on good women!

Martha.

Boiled zucchini, grilled zucchini, pureed zucchini soup, baked stuffed zucchini, Zucchini relish, zucchini bread......
