Greetings!
Hope you all are staying cool! I’m not ;) Though after last night’s wold storm the air is a bit cooler, just a bit though.
We have a view of the lake and were watching the storm last night and I saw the biggest bolt of lightning … ever! My word it was bright… and seemed to hover over the lake…..
Our lovely living space is on the third floor of an old house….. originally an attic? Anyway, ‘my’ little alcove space has two old, small screen-less windows that I love to have open. A few weeks back I noticed a moth on one of my many balls of yarn (big multi-colored project and all)… not good. Femme has been studying and researching the healing qualities of oil through her coaching and reflexology practice. I asked is she’d create an anti moth solution for me, and she did! Researching the effectiveness of oils working together, while keeping in mind my preferred scents, she came up with a mist that I’ve been using regularly on my yarn…. all of it, what’s been worked up and what’s waiting to be picked up. I absolutely love it! The blend consists of lavender, cedar-wood, rosemary, eucalyptus cloves and lemon. It’s heavenly, healing, personalized…. and effective!

It’s been a good and busy week. I’ve been on the lookout for a floor lamp for our living room and had luck at a local shop, but it needed a shade, or glass dome….. so Saturday I checked out a few shops and landed in an actual vintage lighting shop. The owner was helping me with all sorts of vintage glass domes but I spotted a red and white striped shaded that proved perfect! I’ll try to remember to snap a pic :) During my search I saw a bowl of larger vintage buttons (squeep!) and just about emptied the bowl!
Included were 2 antique stilettos that she saw, shrugged and then tossed in a bag. The bag was from a local bakery and when I got home Christopher pointed out the writing on the bag :)

Were those buttons meant for my bags or what?!
The big project continues but honestly, it’s been a challenge to work on through the humidity…..
Raspberries continue to be picked ………….
Woody and Maddy have made it to Utah! They thought their dream of reaching California might remain a dream as his ankle hasn’t healed as well as they’d hoped during their five day rest period, but Woody purchased a very secure brace that, he said, has made all the difference…..
I was talking to him last night and couldn’t help blurting out….. “I can’t believe you rode your bike to Utah!” He agrees! What an adventure…..! He shares his physical and emotional challenges with me and everything I ask how Maddy is, he always chuckles and says, “Oh she’s fine.” :D

Thanks to you who shared your enthusiasm about the new Ruby bag! Allison and I are hoping to get together soon to finally update the website so the new styles will finally have their own categories. I’ve got a new order of leather straps waiting, handles are due soon, new fabrics coming in and in the meantime (between all the crocheting) I sew sew and sew some more…. loving each bag as the final threads are cut.
Thanks as always for stopping in…. and do knit on good women!
Warmly,
Martha.
