Greetings!
We went from a run of gorgeous hot days to rain rain, rain and more rain… but with gardens planted, the rain has been needed. And it’s been cool! Temperatures went from the 90′s last week to the 60′s the past few days….
We continue to settle in and are enjoying hanging things on the wall as well as purging…. doesn’t that always feel so freeing? The big project is coming along well and some of the seaming has started to take place. I played around with different seaming methods on both the right and wrong sides, and have settle on what I think looks best, the only difficult part is that I’m seaming with fingering weight black yarn so good (really good) lighting is a must.

I love being able to pop a bag up there whenever I can…. and thanks to you all for welcoming it with open arms!
As always it’s been a busy week and yoga homework was added on to the usual b-u-s-i-n-e-s-s ….. I must say I do miss my knitting but feel I need to stay really focused with the crochet if I have any chance of getting it done!
Sunday was Hanna’s (my FDIL, future daughter-in-law) bridal shower which was held at Shelburne Farms…. the food was amazing, as were the views…. and as always, Hannah.
In-between the lightning and rain I picked strawberries but hit just the tail end of the season. Never have I seen so many berries gone by, but the ones I found, although small, are sweet as sugar.
We like them on yogurt, with vanilla ice cream or (my favorite) with freshly whipped cream.
Raspberries may be ready now so hopefully we can pick some before the tail end of THAT season!
I made a red sauce last night, but Christopher brought home a flat bread so… some yummy quinoa-vegetable-red sauce something or other will be dinner tonight….
Oh…. Woody and Maddy are in Kansas and have passed the half way point! As crabby as I feel in the heat, at least I’m not riding in 107 degrees, pulling 40 pounds behind my bike in humid air. Good grief… dare I complain at all? :D So their answer is to use high powered headlamps and start riding at 1:00 am to 11:00am to beat the heat. Aren’t they something???? Colorado is next…….
Got to run, back to bags! Stay well and dry good women as you knit on!
Warmly,
Martha.
