Oh I just love finishing up projects! Here is the second pair I’ve done… hoping still for four or five pair to start the next winter with. I only wear a size 7 shoe, and am quite small…. but have realized I prefer my socks to have a little extra room in them, so now knit the large size, casting on 72 sts. Needle size is us 1.5 with a gauge of 8 sts per inch and they feel great. Have I mentioned how much I love this sock yarn??! YarnByStu over on Etsy. Such generous skeins, a great value and her deep saturated colors are fabulous! These are vanilla socks, pattern though is a great one called Pick n Mix Socks by Sandra Paul. Three options for toes, heels and legs.. great pattern.
Jeff has wanted a cold weather hat, so I chose the August Hat by Sarah Solomon (pattern on Ravelry). I chose a lighter weight yarn as his head size is small (and hats do nothing but grow) and the pattern is just one size. The fit is good.. yay, and I did work 7 repeats of the top pattern to get the height I needed. These 2 colors were a poor choice for contrast, but he loves it so yay again. Tassels added for fun… the Malabrigo yarn is fabulously soft and I’m really hoping it doesn’t pill, I think it might…
We started and finished a 500 piece jig saw puzzle yesterday.. a rare day when neither of us felt like being outside 😀 February sun is always so bright and welcoming and I can start to feel the yearning for warmth and much more time outside.
Knit on good women, till next time xoxo
