Aren’t they gorgeous? I’m so thrilled that my husband is making my handles now! He has been for a year now, but I’m just about out of handles I had before he took over. So very soon all handles will be made by Jeffrey. We both love working with our hands, me with fabric and yarn, and Jeff with wood. It means a lot to me, I feel so blessed and love that the bags have his beautiful work included in them. He loves to repurpose as much as I do… notice the beautiful oak set in the middle… repurposed from a friend’s old pool table!

And last summer we purchased some beautiful wood from a retired wood worker’s shop. Like Jeff says… “wood never dies.”

I finished up a pair of socks! Where’s the confetti?? There was a time when I thought if I cast on the second sock right after completing the first, that that would surely be the trick to finishing a pair 😀 … but that wasn’t it. I don’t know what it is about socks, I don’t have that issue with mittens..? But now I divide the skein and knit both at the same time. Working on one and then the other, before I know it ( sort of) they’re done!

A simple rib knit with Zauberball® Crazy. The finished texture is fuzzy and warm, but I didn’t like knitting with the yarn. Great colors though, but I found it splitty. Here’s a yarn I found on Etsy.. and indie dyer from Moscow, her shop is called Yarnbystu. Gorgeous color ways, great yardage at 464, and she ships free with two or more skeins. This is the best yarn value I’ve found. Really… some of those single skein prices are right up there. I’m working on a Vanilla sock now in the colroway Potions Class…
Harry Potter fans will get it 😉

Double pointed needles are what I start them with, then I switch to 9″ circs for the leg, back to the dpn’s to turn the heel, circs for the foot and dpn’s for the toe. Here’s my favorite newly learned toe decrease. Knit 6, k2tog across. Knit 6 rounds plain. Knit 5, k2tog across. Knit 5 rounds plain. Knit 4, k2tog across. Knit 4 rounds plain. Knit 3, k2tog across. Knit 3 rounds plain. Knit 2, k2tog across. Knit 2 rounds plain. Knit 1, k2tog across. Knit 1 round plain. K2tog across. Gather remaining stitches. It has a lovely taper and is really comfortable for me. The YarnByStu, sock stu is so much fun to work with. The color pops are amazing and it has that yummy bounce. Gauge for me is 8 sts per inch on a 1.5 mm needle. On deck for more socks:

Buckbeak and The Hogwarts Express xoxoxo not all of her color ways have a theme.. but if you’re a Game of Thrones fan you’ll have a blast 😀

My goal for going into the winter of 20/21 is to have 4-5 pair of hand knit socks ready to go. Honestly, I’d love to wear only hand knit socks. Doable, I think 😉

Till next time, knit on good women xo
