I hope everyone had a good 4th. For me it was small town sweetness, the parade, book sale, thrift shop and silent auction, a visit with my grandson and an afternoon boat ride with friends! A full and very sweet day. The strawberries should be around for another week and I want to get back to pick again, this time enough for jam.

My mystery squash is flowering! I’d gone to a garden center right up the road looking for cucumber plants, but they didn’t have any so I decided on zucchini. I picked up four small squash plants but the farmer didn’t know what they were… so I bought them anyway, deciding that mystery gardening is lots of fun.. it is!

My friends I’ve been knitting the Samen shawl with have finished … and I’m bringing up the rear!

Lynn’s beautiful work, unblocked.

Betsy’s beautiful work!

They’re different weights.. Betsy’s is heavier with lots of mohair with dreamy colors! It’s large and will be so cozy come the colder weather. Lynn’s colors are soft and beautiful and the feel and drape of her work is lovely. I’m on my second to last solid color…. I love how each shawl is so different!!

…. bring up the rear πŸ™‚

We’ve all started the latest Stephen West knit along called Fade Along. Knitters can choose ANY Stephen West pattern as long as you fade your colors. The three of us agreed we didn’t want to knit another shawl…. and we’re all knitting yet another shawl πŸ˜€Β Here are my colors….. it’s a minimum of three and I’m going with the minimum.

Of course I had to cast on…. πŸ˜‰

Okay, back to work for me. Thanks for being here and let’s all have a good week with lots of sweet summertime knitting……
